  • According to MovieWeb, Jon Favreau has stated that the second full-length trailer for his Cowboys and Aliens will debut on Thursday night’s episode of American Idol.  Still not a good enough reason to tune in.
  • Badass cult film director Walter Hill (The Warriors, 48 Hours) has signed on to direct Headshot, the next film to star Sylvester Stallone, according to /Film.  The movie concerns “a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.”  So it sounds like every action movie ever, but… Walter Hill, you guys!
  • Douglas Trumbull, the special effects whiz behind 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner is set to direct his own film, according to Ain’t It Cool News.
  • Also from Ain’t It Cool: the DP behind Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds and Natural Born Killers will be lensing World War Z.
