Just in case you haven’t burned out on James Franco (and all other things Franco) quite yet, The AV Club notes that James’ younger brother, Dave Franco, has been cast as a villain in the upcoming 21 Jump Street reboot, cleverly titled 21 Jump Street.
The reboot, which stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, along with Brie Larson, Ice Cube, and The Daily Show’s Rob Riggle (who will play the primary villain, “a member of Dads Against Drugs who is secretly the town’s biggest supplier”), will feature Franco-lite as “a high school big man on campus who also happens to be a drug dealer, making him a primary target for the undercover narcs being played by Hill and Channing Tatum.”
The film is also rumored to feature a cameo from Johnny Depp, who starred in the original 21 Jump Street, and apparently has the world’s best sense of humor, because he’s literally going to be appearing in the cinematic adaptation of 21 freaking Jump Street.
For those not in the know, 21 Jump Street was a TV show in the 1980s that featured youthful undercover narcs infiltrating high schools and colleges to bust drug dealers.
What do you think of the 21 Jump Street casting news?
