The film stars Rhys Ifans, David Thewlis, Vannesa Redgrave, Derek Jacobi and Joely Richardson, so this is probably the classiest film the director’s ever made. And he has no thumb prints on the script, so it’s hard to know what to make of the film as of yet. They are selling the scope. Ifans stars as the man who would be Shakespeare in a political thriller. It is unknown if the great Radiohead cue will make it into the movie, but it’s a nice bit of scoring for the trailer.

But with a September 30 release date, it doesn’t seem geared toward award season. Perhaps this was Emmerich’s attempt at doing something like The Da Vinci Code. If it works, maybe we might see Emmerich up for Oscar gold in 2012. For many that would seem like the Mayan Apocalypse.Well know more come September.
