After making a killing—comedically speaking—on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, actress/ comedienne Amy Poehler is set for an even bigger speaking role this May: according to ShowBiz Spy, “Harvard [University] has announced that Amy has been selected as this year’s “Senior Class Day” speaker.”

The extremely prestigious Massachusetts university announced on Tuesday that Poehler, herself a native of Massachusetts, “will address graduates and their families in Harvard Yard’s Tercentenary Theater on May 25.”

“The annual ceremony is scheduled the day before commencement and is a chance for Harvard’s senior class to socialize one last time before graduating.”

It’s all part of a large mix-up really, as I’m assuming that my invitation to speak before the commencement was simply lost in the mail.

In other Poehler news, ShowBiz Spy also has it that Poehler is gunning to get Bill Murray to cameo on NBC’s Parks and Recreation.  She even has an easy job line up for the famously picky Murray:

“I want Bill Murray to play the mayor…That’s my dream. And you know what, if he’s reading this, we’ll only make him work like two hours. And he can sit in a chair the whole time. That’s my number one dream.”

So, a Harvard commencement, a hit TV show, and a possible gig with Bill Murray?  2011 is looking like a good year for Poehler.

What do you think of Poehler speaking at Harvard?
