In case you’ve been wondering where former American Pie star Chris Klein has been the past few years, you’re probably his mom.  But, just in case you’re not, you’ll be happy to know that On The Red Carpet reports that Klein is set to costar in FX’s Wilfred, a sitcom about “a man who interacts with a dog but sees the animal as a man wearing a dog costume.”

Klein, well known for playing Oz  from American Pie 1 and 2, as well as his recurring role as a celebrity convicted of DUIs in 2005 and 2010 (the second of which won him his first stint in L.A. County Jail and a follow-up role in live-in rehab), will co-star with Elijah Wood on Wilfred (Wood’s the guy who talks to the man-pooch), as  “the love interest of Wood’s character’s neighbor, Jenna. She owns Wilfred, whose human persona is portrayed by Jason Gann.”

Also, as On the Red Carpet points out and we reported recently, an American Pie 4 is now in the works, and while Pie costars Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs and Eugene Levy have all signed on to star in the film, there has been no word yet on Klein’s involvement.

What do you think of Klein joining Wilfred?
