Earlier this week we learned that CBS and Warner Bros television had given the axe to Charlie Sheen, the star of their series “Two and a Half Men.” As soon as the announcement hit the net people were already speculating on the show’s future. Will they cancel it or will they bring in a replacement for the actor? The most recent rumors have stated that another former eighties bad boy would step into Sheen’s shoes, and it’s none other than Rob Lowe.
Wednesday morning Sheen called in to the Los Angeles radio station K-Earth 101, where he spoke about some of the names being thrown out as his possible replacement. When the news was broached last week, the actor was adamant that no one could take over where he left off, but when it comes to Rob Lowe he’s changed his tune.
“He’s a buddy of mine, he’s a beautiful man, a brilliant actor, and I hope he does it and kicks its ass because I still get [paid],” he said.
He also wanted to give Lowe and any other candidates a word of advice, He said, “Don’t look at the 177 episodes that I brilliantly did. Just park those! Ignore the 400 reruns every week that you can’t avoid. Cancel your Sheen app. I’d recommend, in all seriousness, that they make it their own.”
Thanks Charlie, now they can sleep at night knowing you gave them your stamp of approval. As for Lowe, his involvement is all speculation, and the last time we checked he was doing pretty well on NBC’s “Parks & Recreation.” Why would he want to risk a solid gig like that on the chance that he may or may not be able to save a show that’s already in its twilight years?
Do you think Sheen should be replaced? Should they just cancel the show all together?
