International Women’s Day is Tuesday, March 8th and in honor of the occasion two of the U.K.’s most talented actors have joined forces for a film that educates the masses on what it truly means for women and men to be equals. The video features Daniel Craig as James Bond, propelled by a chilling narration given by his Bond co-star Judi Dench. It’s Craig like we’ve never seen him before…

The set up: the short is directed by filmmaker and artist Sam Taylor-Wood (Nowhere Boy), and it addresses a series of important questions. In this day and age, are women and men truly equal? Dench’s matter of fact vocals are what really drives the message home, alongside Craig’s ability to go from macho-god to demure daisy.

We have to give Craig props for doing this video, not because he’s wearing a dress but because of what it represents. It means a lot to see one of pop culture’s most iconic male figures (James Bond) brought to tears by a woman’s plight. That’s a strong visual to have on an international platform.

As Dench says, “For someone with such a fondness for women, I wonder if you’ve ever considered what it might be like to be one?” And after all the facts are laid out she continues with, “So, are we equals?”
