Nicholas Hoult is becoming one to watch thanks to his upcoming film roster. The young actor will appear in this summer’s X-Men First Class, he’s signed on to play the title character in Jack the Giant Killer, and now he’s joined a zombie romance called Warm Bodies. According to Summit Entertainment, Hoult will headline the film.

Warm Bodies is based on the novel of the same name written by Isaac Marion. It centers on “an existentially tormented zombie who begins an unlikely friendship with the girlfriend of one of his victims and starts a chain reaction that will transform him and his fellow zombies.” We’re assuming these won’t be the slow, dumb, and decomposing zombies we’ve seen in the past.

We’re used to seeing vampires come across as attractive but how can you pull that off with a zombie? The screenplay for Warm Bodies will be adapted by Jonathan Levine, who’ll also direct the film. Production is scheduled to begin later this summer.

Who’s read this book? Can you describe the zombies for us? We’re trying to wrap our heads around the idea of a zombie who can hold conversations and form friendships.

What do you think of Hoult starring in Warm Bodies?
