Bryan Singer and New Line Cinema have found the leading lady for their upcoming film, Jack the Giant Killer. According to Deadline, Eleanor Tomlinson has been cast opposite Nicholas Hoult who plays the title character. This is a huge deal for the British actress, who beat out hundreds of girls to land this coveted role.

Tomlinson has been acting since the age of 12, and has appeared in several films but nothing as big as Jack the Giant Killer. The 19 year old will play a princess, who’s kidnapped by a band of evil giants after she runs away from home. Prior to her capture she stumbles upon Jack (Hoult) and the duo make a connection. The connection is so strong that the inexperienced man leads the charge to save her from the giants. The screenplay was written by frequent Singer collaborator Christopher McQuarrie.

The rest of the cast of Jack the Giant Killer includes Stanley Tucci who plays an advisor to the king with designs on usurping power. There’s also Bill Nighy and John Kassir who’ll play the two-headed leader of the giants, and Ewan McGregor recently began talks to play the leader of the king’s elite guard, who helps fight giants. Not too bad Bryan Singer. Not too bad.
