In the past year, we’ve seen a live action adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and read about the development of two Snow White films, so is anyone really surprised that Peter Pan is coming out to play? The face of Neverland is headed to the big screen according to THR. An adaptation of the tale has been packaged and is being pitched to studios and actor Channing Tatum is attached.

Not much is known about the story details regarding this take on Pan, but we do know that it’s going by the title Peter Pan Begins. Having the word “begins” in a title usually refers to youth or an origin story, but Tatum is 30 years old, what is he doing with the early days of Peter? Will he play his dad? Or will this be a Robin Williams Hook type of scenario we’re talking about?

Tatum, screenwriter Billy Ray and producer Joe Roth are working together to pitch the new Pan. Roth knows a thing or two about this sub-genre of films considering his involvement with the latest Alice, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Oz the Great and Powerful. He’s all over the oldies but goodies.

What do you think of Tatum being attached to Peter Pan Begins? Who should play the title character?
