Kiefer Sutherland isn’t giving up on the big screen adaptation of “24.” After the series cancellation last year, it’s hard not to notice the vacancy left by the show in the primetime line up. We were told that the series would hit the big screen as a major motion picture produced by 20th Century Fox, but when the first script was delivered the studio turned it down. Therefore, we were left in limbo wondering if Jack will ever be back! According to his portrayer, Sutherland says the film is still moving full speed ahead despite its many roadblocks.

Sutherland is currently on a promotional tour for his current project, the stage play That Championship Season. This morning he appeared on the talk show “Live with Regis & Kelly” where he gave an update on “24.”

“We hopefully will start next January and I think Tony Scott is one of the directors that has expressed great interest in doing it and he would be fantastic, so I’m very excited about that.”

Even though we want to see the movie happen, we’re very weary of the time table he’s revealed. We have a bad feeling about this one. Arrested Development anyone?

What do you think about the 24 movie’s future? Do you think it will happen?
