Thor centers on a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. As punishment, Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans. Once here, he learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends dark forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

This trailer shows a lot more of Asgard and how the powers there are clashing with those on earth. The final few shots with the Destroyer are pretty epic. We didn’t expect them to put the creature in this film because of its stature and power but we’re happy they did.

The otherworldly elements in the film look surprisingly good! When Thor is initially transported to earth in the funnel of clouds and dust — epic. When he and Loki battle it out over mankind — even more epic. When the Destroyer comes down to handle its business — the most epic! Director Kenneth Branagh might have an ace up his sleeve with this one.

Thor is scheduled to hit theaters next year on May 6, 2011 and will be in 3D. The film stars Hemsworth, Portman, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Clark Gregg, and Samuel L. Jackson.
