A new clip has been released from Johnny Depp’s latest film Rango. The animated feature is directed by his former Pirates of the Caribbean helmer Gore Verbinski and marks the director’s first venture into the genre. In this clip, Rango has a hard time asserting his leadership amongst a group of Southwest natives. Hilarity ensues. Take a look…
As you can see, he starts off a little rocky but eventually finds his footing. We love the music in this clip and the fact that they point it out so blatantly. Sometimes tunes can be considered secondary characters in movies.
Rango centers on a chameleon who’s going through an identity crisis and embarks on a cross-country journey where he ends up in the dangerous Southwest territory. Instead of the animals being portrayed as creatures in the wild they’re given human characteristics, a cowboy/mariachi wardrobe, and a Western genre vibe.
Rango is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2011.
