A new trailer has been released for the upcoming animated/live action feature Hop. The film is produced by Universal, and comes from the same people who brought us Despicable Me. The lead character is a CGI Easter Bunny who’s voiced by Russell Brand, and he links up with an unsuspecting James Marsden in Hollywood to meet his idol — David Hasselhoff. Check out the trailer…

This actually looks funny! We didn’t expect this film to be nearly has clever or sweet as it looks. Brand’s voice fits perfectly with the character and he’s so adorable. We have to admit, the design for the bunny is a lot more pleasant than the work on Despicable Me.

Blending state of the art animation with live action, Hop is a comedy about E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand), the teenage son of the Easter Bunny. On the eve of taking over the family business, E.B. leaves for Hollywood in pursuit of his dream of becoming a drummer. He encounters Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker with his own lofty goals, who accidentally hits E.B. with his car. Feigning injury, E.B. manipulates Fred into providing him shelter, and Fred finds himself with the world’s worst houseguest.

Hop opens in theaters on April 1.
