Last year, Leonardo DiCaprio announced that production on his next film J. Edgar would begin sometime around February of 2011. True to his word, filming has begun and we’ve got our first look at the actor after he’s been transformed into the title character. Several photos were taken of DiCaprio while on break during the shoot in Los Angeles. You can check them out below…
J. Edgar will cover the head of the FBI and his reign from its creation in 1935 to his death in 1972. The film will be produced by Brian Grazer and has a script written by Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk). The film stars DiCaprio, Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer, Judi Dench, Ed Westwick, Josh Lucas, Damon Herriman, and Ken Howard.
We smell another Oscar nomination on the horizon for Mr. DiCaprio. He has some great source material to work with when it comes to this man’s complicated life. There are questions about Hoover’s ethics, his resources, and even his love life, all of which will be addressed in the movie.
J. Edgar will be directed by Clint Eastwood.
What do you think of DiCaprio’s take on Hoover?
