What would be better than having a Bond girl in a movie? How about two?! According to a recent report from Deadline, English actress Rosamund Pike is in talks to take over the role of Andromeda, in the Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans.
In the first Titans, Andromeda was played by Alexa Davalos and in the film she was saved from the monstrous Kraken by Perseus. As a sign of her gratitude, she offered him a life with her but he decided to follow his own path and fight the corrupt gods instead.
Davalos is being replaced because she has a prior commitment that would interfere with the movie’s production. The role of Andromeda is said to be larger and more substantial than what we saw in the first film.
Pike made a big splash in 2002 when she appeared in the Bond flick Die Another Day. If everything goes according to plan for Titans, she’ll star alongside Gemma Arterton who previously appeared in Quantum of Solace.
Is it bad that a part of us still wishes that Pike was cast as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class? Talk about a missed opportunity.
What do you think of Pike playing Andromeda?
