Have you been following the drama surrounding the feature adaptation of Pride and and Prejudice and Zombies? If not, allow us to get you up to speed. The film was originally set up as a director’s vehicle for David O. Russell, but he dropped out to take on another movie. Next, Mike White was tapped to helm the film, but he had to exit because of a scheduling conflict with another project, and now we’re hoping the third time is a charm because Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) is the latest director to be attached to the film.

Vulture confirms that Gillespie is in talks to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which is interesting considering he just wrapped production on the Fright Night remake. Someone’s been bitten by the horror bug!

The story for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will expand on the Jane Austen classic by adding a few blood thirty zombies into the mix. It’s based on the reinterpretation of author Seth Grahame-Smith, and tells the timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers.

What do you think of Gillespie taking over where White and Russell left off?
