Prior to the release of the long awaited sequel Tron Legacy, we learned that the original Tron was going to finally make its debut on Blu-ray. The film was released nearly 30 years ago and hadn’t experienced the conversion to High Definition just yet. Over at Amazon, they have what appears to be the packaging for not only the Tron Blu-ray but also its sequel. Check out the photos and the details below…

This artwork hasn’t been confirmed by Disney and is being listed as pending. If they do use it, it will be a great collector’s edition box set. The bad news is the original Tron only seems to be available in the set and not as a solo release. Boo! What if you just want the movies individually and not all the bells and whistles of a special edition?

Here’s the Tron Legacy artwork.

Tron Legacy hit theaters on December 17, 2010 after a long 28 year hiatus. The first movie came out in 1982 and starred Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, the man and the myth behind the world of Tron. Legacy shifts the focus onto Flynn’s son Sam (Garrett Hedlund), who accidentally gets pulled into Tron while trying to save his father’s life.
