The idea of rebooting the primetime soap “Dallas” has been in the pipeline for years. At first it was going to be a film, and then a TV movie, and now they’ve settled on remaking the whole thing as a regular series. In light of the success of “Hawaii Five-O” and the reemergence of “Charlie’s Angels” TNT has decided to sink their teeth into “Dallas.” But unlike the other shows, this one will be a continuance of the original featuring some of the old stars.

Just in case you didn’t know, the feature film adaptation was supposed to include John Travolta, Shirley MacLaine, Luke Wilson, and Jennifer Lopez as some of the original characters. There was even talk of Jessica Simpson and Ashton Kutcher getting in on the action (thank God that didn’t happen!). Every movie attempt failed so they’ve recoiled and decided to target the small screen.

Somehow, TNT has managed to get Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray to return for their revamp as J.R. Ewing, Bobby Ewing, and Sue Ellen Ewing. The rest of the cast will include “Desperate Housewives” co-star Josh Henderson (as J.R.’s son John Ross) and Fast & Furious cast member Jordana Brewster (as a mysterious woman who causes problems between John Ross and Bobby Ewing’s son Christopher, as-yet uncast).

Are you interested in the new Dallas? Should they just leave it alone?
