After waiting for almost a year, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first photo from X-Men: First Class. It features the main cast members including Professor Xavier, Magneto, Emma Frost, and Mystique. At first glance, it looks fan made due to the bad Photoshop, but it’s the real deal. It premiered over on MSN via The Daily Blam, but it looks — underwhelming. Check it out…

This can’t be the final product. We doubt that Fox would release such a juvenile image to represent one of their biggest tentpoles. It looks like they cut and pasted Rebecca Romijn’s face from the original X-Men trilogy and put it on Jennifer Lawrence’s body. There are a lot of things that can be picked at here, but we’re hoping that a better quality photo will debut shortly after this.

Official Plot Synopsis:

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

X-Men First Class will open in theaters nationwide on June 3, 2011.
