Over the past few weeks there have been rumors stating that Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway might be joining the cast of “Glee.” Not as a regular but as a guest star. She’ll join the long list of celebs who’ve appeared on the Fox show, with the latest being Gwyneth Paltrow. While at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy confirmed to Access Hollywood that Hathaway’s gig is a done deal.

“Glee” won big last night in more ways than one. The show picked up trophies for Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, and creator Murphy for Best TV Comedy, which gave him more than enough to smile about. The good news didn’t stop there, according to Murphy, Hathaway personally told him that she wanted to do “Glee” and he told her he’d set it up.

“She walked by our table and we have a mutual friend and I said, ‘Do you really want to do it?’ And she said, ‘I do.’ And I said, ‘OK, we’re gonna do it,’” said Murphy.

We’re not sure who Hathaway will play but the actress already has an idea of who she’d like to be.

“In my head, I’ve written a part for myself on ‘Glee.’” she told Fallon. “In my head I’ve cast myself on ‘Glee’ and I know what song I’d sing… I would wanna play Kurt’s long-lost aunt, his mother’s sister who is also gay, who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality, and I would sing, ‘You Are Not Alone,’” a song from Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Into The Woods.’

We would actually tune in to watch that. Hathaway has a great voice, and decent comedic timing. When do you think she’ll appear? We say May Sweeps.

Who do you think Hathaway should play on Glee?
