When David Fincher finds something or someone that works, he sticks with them (just ask Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, and Rooney Mara).  Fincher’s most recent creative collaboration was with Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor who scored his drama The Social Network. According to Billboard, they will make more magic together because he’s been tapped to compose the music for Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Reznor will also reunite with writing partner Atticus Ross, who also co-composed The Social Network score. Their winning combination earned them a Golden Globe nomination for their work. In an interview with The New York Times, Reznor revealed that the sound of Dragon Tattoo will be greatly different from The Social Network. The score will “rely more on string arrangements than the electronic-leaning music.”

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is set to hit theaters this Christmas so it will be a long time before we get to hear what the score has to offer. But Reznor assures us that he’s already completed “over two hours’ worth of music over the past month with Ross.”

What do you think of Fincher reuniting with Reznor and Ross for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo?
