It’s no secret that a lot of people have issues with David O. Russell’s developing adaptation of Uncharted: Drake Fortune. From what we’ve heard it heavily deviates from the storyline of the video game and adds multiple characters who either don’t exist or don’t have major parts in the original story. There’s also the issue of Mark Wahlberg being cast as Nathan Drake. He’s not a horrible actor but fans are having a hard time viewing him as the character.

There have been a lot of flip-flop reports confirming and denying the actor’s casting in the film with the latest coming from Moviehole. The man himself has once again stated that he’s still on for Uncharted and so are Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci!

When asked about his status with the film Wahlberg said, “David O’Russell is writing right now and hopes to direct. It’s myself, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro.” In regards to the production start he stated that they’ll hopefully shoot “in the summer time.”

When O. Russell’s original plan for the film was released, De Niro and Pesci were said to be on board to play Drake’s father and uncle respectively. This would definitely add a new family dynamic that’s not really part of the game. With so many changes it kind of makes you wonder what will remain the same.

What do you think of Wahlberg starring as Drake?
