Katy Perry is everywhere! She’s not Twilight everywhere, but she’s getting pretty close. The pop singer is moving from the world of music to television and film. She will appear in the upcoming CGI/live action comedy The Smurfs later this year, and according to THR she’ll also guest star on an episode of the CBS hit, “How I Met Your Mother.” Once again we say, she’s everywhere!
CBS announced that Perry will guest star on the episode entitled, “Oh Honey,” where she’ll play a love interest for Josh Radnor’s character Ted. She’s described as “a beautiful, naive girl who the gang resorts to calling ‘honey,’” and who happens to be Zoey’s (Jennifer Morrison) cousin.
“Katy is a tremendous talent and we are delighted to be able to work with her,” said Carter Bays, co-creator and executive producer of the show.
This casting choice is like six degrees of separation over here. Perry co-starred with “How I Met Your Mother’ regular Neil Patrick Harris in The Smurfs, and her husband Russell Brand has worked with Jason Segel on three films (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Despicable Me).
What do you think of Perry guest starring on How I Met Your Mother? Will you watch?
