Whenever there’s a crime committed against women that makes its way into the media, you better believe that Lifetime will be ready and willing to make a movie about it. The network for women has shifted their focus to the internet with the “based on a true story” feature The Craigslist Killer. The film is scheduled to air Monday night (this evening) at 9 pm, check out the trailer below…
If you’ve been living under a rock and have no idea who or what The Craigslist Killer is, let us bring you up to speed. The story centers around Philip Markoff, the “Boston University medical student, charged with the 2009 murder of Julissa Brisman, a masseuse he was said to have met with via a Craigslist appointment.” Markoff pleaded not guilty to the charges and was set to go on trial this month but he committed suicide in his jail cell last August.
The feature adaptation stars William Baldwin doing his best no nonsense cop routine, Agnes Bruckner (what happened to her career?), and Jake McDormand, as the title character. Doesn’t this movie remind you of those old NBC Monday night flicks? Those were the days.
What do you think of the trailer for the film? Do you plan on watching tonight?
