Natalie Portman is everywhere these days. The actress is riding a career high thanks to her work in her latest film Black Swan. She’s gearing up to hit us with a one-two punch of comedy and drama in 2011 with No Strings Attached followed by The Other Woman. The first poster and trailer for the latter film has been released and as you might suspect it features Portman playing a less than honorable character. Check it out…
We don’t know how we feel about this movie. It was made in 2009 and is scheduled for release in February, and it centers on a young woman (Portman) who has an affair with a married lawyer (Scott Cohen) who eventually divorces his wife to be with her and their unborn child. Unfortunately their daughter dies and the woman has to deal with the loss and her new step-son, whom she uses as a crutch to deal with her grief. Lisa Kudrow co-stars as the boy’s mother.
In a nutshell, this movie starts off with an affair, is filled with tragedy, and ends with this woman’s new appreciation for children. Isn’t she a home wrecker? Why are they making Kudrow’s character seem like a psycho just because she doesn’t want her son to think that Portman is his replacement mom? We’re all for blended families and everyone getting along but something about that doesn’t seem right.
The Other Woman hits theaters on February 4, 2011.
