The one, the only, the dame has joined Clint Eastwood’s latest film, Hoover. According to SandwichJohn,(via The Playlist) the director revealed that Judi Dench is the latest star to join the cast of his film that currently features Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. There’s also been word that Armie Hammer will play his right hand man, and Oscar winner Charlize Theron has been offered a part, which she’s considering taking.
Hoover will cover the head of the FBI and his reign from its creation in 1935 to his death in 1972. The film will be produced by Brian Grazer and has a script written by Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk). Production is expected to begin sometime early next year.
There’s no word on who Dench will play but more than likely she’ll have one hell of a role. All the actors involved have such substantial parts. Hammer will play lawyer-turned-FBI-official Clyde Tolson, whom was also rumored to be Hoover’s lover, Australian actor Damon Herriman will star as the man convicted of kidnapping and killing the Lindbergh baby, and if Theron accepts, she’ll play Helen Gandy, a Justice Department file clerk who ended up being Hoover’s personal secretary.
