“How I Met Your Mother” is in the news again and it was nothing to do with that nasty cyber spat that went on between Neil Patrick Harris and soap star Eric Braeden. We have some good news to report regarding the casting of two “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” alums. HIMYM will call on Danny Strong and Alexis Denisof for guest spots in the new year.
Strong will play “noogey-loving bully from Marshall’s [Jason Segel] past” in an episode airing early next year, while Denisof will portray Robin’s (Cobie Smulders) former co-anchor, Sandy Rivers. The show will air on January 3 and according to CBS this won’t be a pleasant reunion. “Just when Robin thinks she has a brand new start at her dream company, Sandy Rivers shows up and throws a huge wrench in her plans.”
Both Strong and Denisof appeared on multiple seasons of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” with Strong as the nerd turned evil henchman Jonathan, and Denisof as Wesley, Faith’s Watcher. Jonathan’s life eventually came to an end, while Wesley moved to Los Angeles to become the right hand man of Angel (David Boreanaz) on his spin-off.
Interesting tidbit, Denisof is HIMYM star Alyson Hannigan’s real life husband.
What do you think of Strong and Denisof guest starring on the show? Are you excited about the mini-Buffy reunion?
