Cult TV Star Katee Sackhoff has left her roles on “Battlestar Gallactica,” “24,” and “CSI,” for something a little more sexy. According to THR, the actress has landed the lead in the feature Sexy Evil Genius, a dark comedy directed by “Greek” (from ABC Family) executive producer Shawn Piller.
“Genius centers on a group of strangers brought together in a downtown Los Angeles bar by their mutual ex-girlfriend (Sackhoff). The woman is mysterious about her intentions, but by the night’s end, revenge will be had, romance made and the wronged woman will have delivered on her reputation as the sexy evil genius at the center of all their lives.”
The script was written by Scott Lew, who suffers from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He’s a quadriplegic who’s wheelchair-bound. In an email to THR he wrote, “Writing is the only way I really get to express myself with complexity.” It’s really inspiring to see someone go above and beyond their physical limitations to pursue their careers. A lot of people would have just given up. Kudos to him for being so focused.
What do you think of Sackhoff starring as the lead in Sexy Evil Genius? Is she the right choice?
