Last week we learned that the sequel to Warner Bros’ 2010 remake Clash of the Titans will be called Wrath of the Titans and both Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes are set to return. Ever since the film was greenlit, the studio has been very vague about the release date for the movie, which is really rare when dealing with a tentpole, they typically want to set them up immediately. Today Coming Soon scooped that Wrath will open in theaters everywhere in the spring of 2012.

The site claims that Warner Bros has set the release date for March 30, 2012, which is the same time frame it debuted in theaters this year (April 2, 2010). The film was very much an origin story for the character Perseus (Sam Worthington) and centered on him seeking revenge against the gods for killing his family, while discovering that he’s the bastard son of Zeus.

Since the sequel’s title is Wrath of the Titans, we assume it will center on a pissed off Hades going after Perseus while attacking the mortals again. The movie will be shot and released in 3D to avoid the horrendous criticism they received this year over the studio’s shotty post conversion work. You live and you learn.

What do you think of the release date for the film?
