If you’re a fan of “The Doctor Who” spin-off “Torchwood” we’ve got some good news for you. Bill Pullman and Mekhi Phifer will appear on the new season of the show, when it returns on the Starz Network. The news was just announced via Twitter from writer Jane Espenson who revealed that Pullman was the show’s newest cast member.

Even though it’s a U.K. show at heart, production on “Torchwood” will move to the U.S. where the new fourth season will take place. It’s expected to air sometime during 2011 on Starz. Pullman and Phifer join returning actors John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Kai Owen.

It’s hard for us to imagine “Torchwood” with these new American actors in it. We know that they’re going for a new network, audience, and look but it seems kind of weird. It will take some getting used to. Besides that, we are happy to see both actors get some steady work. Where’s Pullman been all this time? He was the president in Independence Day for goodness sake!

It seems like everybody is moving to television.

What do you think of the addition of Pullman and Phifer to the cast of Torchwood? Are you excited for the new season?
