Reunited and it feels so good! Neill Blomkamp will once again team up with his District 9 star Sharlto Copley for his latest film, Elysium. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, like District 9, Elysium will be another sci-fi film that has outer worldly elements and a political undertone. In other words, they’re sticking with a formula that works. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

The site claims that every studio is interested in picking up Blomkamp’s highly anticipated second feature. He has been taking meetings all over the town and is said to be including a graphic novel in his presentations. Elysium‘s story is “set in the far future on another planet and is filled with many sociopolitical ideas wrapped up inside a Hollywood action film.”

District 9 was released by Sony so we’re wondering if they have first dibs on his new project. Blomkamp became a seriously hot commodity after the release of the film, especially once it earned a Best Picture Oscar nomination last year.

Copley is currently the only actor on board with Elysium and the director and his team are working out the film’s budget and meeting with reps from other potential castmates

What do you think of Blomkamp and Copley reuniting for Elysium? Are you interested in seeing the film?
