About 10 years ago Chris Tucker was all the rage. He (along with Jackie Chan) starred in one of the biggest buddy cop franchises in history (Rush Hour) and was raking in a huge paycheck. With that type of success and notoriety you’d think he’d use it to gain more projects and expand his resume, but instead he did Rush Hour 2 and 3 and called it a day. Tucker’s been laying low for the past few years but according to Deadline, he’s on the road to a comeback.

The site reports that a spec script called The Rabbit, which features Tucker in a leading role was recently sold to Warner Bros. The story is said to be in the same vein as the 1988 comedy, Midnight Run. The film will be produced by Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and the screenplay was penned by Micah Barnett.

Unfortunately we have no idea what The Rabbit is about. It sounds like an animated family movie but that’s definitely not it. Whatever it is, we’re happy to see Tucker back in the game. Granted he’s nothing more than a whinier, less funny version of Chris Rock but he has his moments. To this day Rush Hour 2 is still one of the funniest movies we’ve ever seen.

What do you think of Tucker returning to the big screen?
