Most of us know Peter Parker as a young kid who was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. His parents have never been portrayed in a film or on television but Sony’s Spider-man reboot will change that. According to THR, both of Parker’s parents will appear in the movie and they’ll be played by Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson.
Campbell Scott was a very popular actor in the eighties and early nineties. Lately he’s been doing a lot of television and stage work but we miss seeing him on the big screen. Nicholson is best known for her role on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” as Detective Megan Wheeler. Since the Parker parents were barely spoken or written about, we’re assuming their scenes will be flashbacks.
Two more actors have also joined the cast in the form of Irrfan Khan and Annie Parisse. Khan will be another bad guy to star alongside Rhys Ifans, who plays The Lizard aka Dr. Curt Connors. Khan’s character is Van Adder, who we believe appeared in only one issue of the comic (tell us if you know for sure). Parisse will play his wife.
What do you think about Parker’s parents being in the film? Do you know more about their background?
