Is your Spidey sense tingling? It should be because Sony’s upcoming reboot of the Marvel superhero franchise is about to start production. Over on MTV, co-star Emma Stone opened up about when they’ll finally start shooting and what we can expect from her character Gwen Stacy. Will she be the bubbly blonde we saw in 2007′s Spider-Man 3? Don’t count on it…
According to Stone, they’ve just completed all the visual tests as well as hair and make up. For those of you who are wondering, yes she is really a natural blonde and she’s gone back to the color for this part.
Stone: Today I went and did hair tests, because I have blonde hair now since Gwen has blonde hair. My natural hair is blonde, so it’s kind of nice. I looked in the mirror and said, “Oh my god, it’s me again, it’s been so long!” We’re finalizing the visual stuff. And I think we’ll start actually rehearsing, because we start shooting in two weeks. Andrew and I went and learned about science yesterday. Gwen really likes science, so we learned about science. I was home-schooled, so I never went to chemistry class in a traditional setting like Gwen is into. That was really beneficial.
Apparently the character prep she’s doing changes on a day to day basis. Her and director Marc Webb are still working out the kinks. She said they’re still in the development stages of everything and trying to figure out how Gwen and Peter will eventually come together.
Not to completely change the subject but does it worry anyone else that this hasn’t been flushed out yet? Also, isn’t it a bit weird that Andrew Garfield doesn’t look like he’s been working out at all? Maybe he has and he’s just hiding his body from us. They did say that they wanted this Spider-Man to center on a more emo Ultimate version of the character.
What do you think of the Spider-Man progress? Do you think they’re going in the right direction?
