Is Anne Hathaway the go-to girl for strong female superhero love interests? A while ago we reported that she along with a group of equally talented actresses were in the running to star in the Batman sequel, The Dark Knight Rises. She was rumored to either be a love interest for Bruce Wayne or a villain for his alter ego. Either way, nothing has been confirmed and just when we thought we were over it another rumor has caught our attention. According to What’s Playing, Hathaway is a contender to play Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot.

To be completely honest, Hathaway would make the perfect Lois Lane. She’s talented, relatable, and most importantly she would be believable in the role. The last actress to play the part was Kate Bosworth in Superman Returns, and she stuck out like a sore thumb. She was too young for the part, and was trying too hard to play an older, level headed journalist. Hathaway wouldn’t have to put that much effort into it. She not too young, not too old, and she looks like an everyday working girl.

There are also rumors regarding the plot to the film that comes from a casting breakdown that was released this week. The film is said to show Kent as “a young journalist, traveling for the globe, who would rather solve problems and help people without resorting to using his special powers.” He’s also supposed to travel to West Africa to try and keep the peace between two battling tribes. We’re not sure if that’s the Superman his die hard fans want to see, but if you like it, we love it.

What do you think of Hathaway playing Lane? What about the film’s premise?
