Last night, Warner Bros released the first trailer for next summer’s comic book adaptation The Green Lantern. So far, the fan reaction to the footage has been decent but nothing to write home about. Do you have any idea how particular Green Lantern fans are? Just in case you missed a few important moments in the trailer, we’ve put together some screencaps that feature all the faces and actions you might have overlooked. Check them out…
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.
The one thing about the trailer that we undoubtedly like are the alien Lanterns. We love the way Kilowog, Abin Sur, Tomar-Re, and especially Sinestro look in their costumes. Because their mostly CGI characters, they seem to look better in their suits than Hal Jordan does. In some of the scenes it looks a little fake. As for Hector Hammond, the jury is still out on that. He sort of looks like a villan from an eighties movie here. We’re not digging his make up.
The Green Lantern hits theaters on June 17, 2011.
