Director Steve McQueen is reuniting with his Hunger star Michael Fassbender for another film entitled, Shame. These two seem to have a thing for dramatic movies with single word names don’t they? The official poster and plot synopsis for Shame has been revealed and just like you’d expect it’s a character driven story that once again forces Fassbender to bring his A-game. Take a look…
Brandon (Michael Fassbender, Inglourious Basterds, Hunger, A Dangerous Method) is a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister moves into his apartment, Brandon’s world spirals out of control.
From director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.
What do they mean by his mismanaged sex life? Does he have multiple partners that he can’t keep track of, or is he lacking in that area? That can be misconstrued in various ways. Also, the addition of his sister adds an uncomfortable element to an already suspicious situation. With a title like Shame does something happen between those two that’s morally wrong? We can’t wait until the first trailer for the film is released so we can get a better idea of what’s exactly going on here.
What do you think of the poster and synopsis for Shame? What do you think the plot entails?
