We’ve got some sad news to report for fans of the AMC series “Rubicon.” The mystery and intrigue that the show brought to the network wasn’t strong enough to pull in the ratings, and they’ve decided to cancel it. “Rubicon” is no more. The series premiered over the summer on August 1st and never became a solid hit like its peers “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad” therefore, it got the axe.
“Rubicon gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story, and we’re proud of the series,” the network said in a statement. “This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a phenomenally talented and dedicated team.”
We’ve got to be honest here: we never watched the show. We’re obviously part of the reason why “Rubicon” didn’t succeed. For those who have seen it, we’ve heard plenty of good things, but there have also been complaints about the pace of the narrative. From an outsider’s perspective it looked dull and boring, which I’m sure it wasn’t but something had to go wrong if AMC pulled it.
If you watched the show, what do you think put the final nail in its coffin?
What do you think of AMC’s decision to cancel Rubicon? Was it the right move?
