If you’ve been waiting to hear an update on Paramount’s adaptation of The Lost City of Z we have one, but it’s not good. According to a report from Vulture, the film has lost it’s leading star Brad Pitt. The actor who is currently attached to play a mob enforcer in Cogan’s Trade has decided to leave his previous commitment. So what happened?
Insiders close to the project say that problems arose with the film when director James Gray and the studio began to butt heads over his salary. While they were busy doing that Pitt was making more movie deals, hence his exit from the film. Not to be negative but personally, we think Clive Owen would do a better job. Someone give him a call.
The Lost City of Z is based on the non-fiction book from New Yorker staff writer David Grann. The story centers on a British soldier named Col. Percy Fawcett. Fawcett left Victorian society to explore in the Amazon, and he became obsessed by the idea of an advanced civilization he called Z, which he believed existed in the depths of the jungle. Along with his son, Fawcett headed into the jungle in 1925 in search of Z and was never seen again.
Who do you think could replace Pitt in The Lost City of Z?
