Brad Pitt will reunite with The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford director Andrew Dominick for a new film entitled, Cogan’s Trade. According to THR, the project will be a comedy that centers on the life of a man who gets mixed up with the mob, which is a great change of pace compared to their previous feature together.
Cogan’s Trade will center on “Jackie Cogan, a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game under protection of the mob.” As you might imagine, Pitt is set to play the title character and Dominick is looking to reunite the actor with some of his Jesse James cast mates including Sam Rockwell and Casey Affleck in supporting roles. Pitt and Affleck also worked together on the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy so they’re comfortable doing both comedy and drama with each another.
Other actors on the shortlist include Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo, but isn’t he in everything? He needs to get himself ready for The Avengers (which is shooting in February) then he can start focusing on other films. Pitt will also produce Cogan’s Trade along with his Plan B banner and Bill Johnson from the Inferno production company.
What do you think of Dominick and Pitt coming together again? Who should co-star with Pitt?
