When you think of Halloween, three things come to mind: candy, Halloween the movie, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s been 35 years since the Transylvanian musical debuted in theaters with Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry as the leads. In honor of the anniversary the original stars as well as a few others including Jack Nicholson, Evan Rachel Wood, Julian MacMahon, Lea Michelle, and Matthew Morrison decided to participate in a Los Angeles fundraiser inspired by the film to raise money for a good cause.
Nicholson shared narration duties for The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Danny DeVito, while Michele and Morrison played the roles of Janet and Brad. In a crazy turn MacMahon was dressed from head to toe as the transsexual Dr. Frank-n-furter and “Lost” alum Jorge Garcia starred as the motorcycle riding Eddie, who was previously played by Meat Loaf in the original.
Wood and Lucas Gabreel from High School Musical were stand outs as Magenta and Riff Raff, they did an amazing job. Even better than the actor’s from “Glee!” One of the most hilarious bits came from George Lopez as he appeared pantless in the role of Dr. Scott. At the end of it all Bostwick and Curry came out to a thunderous applause accompanied by an encore performance of “The Time Warp.”
Why haven’t they released the video of this performance yet? It sounds like a must see!
