Do you remember back in September when we reported on a developing live action version of Snow White? Unlike the animated Disney film that we’re so used to seeing, this one will have a twist! It’s called Snow White and The Huntsman, and according to The Playlist, it boy Tom Hardy is up for the role of “The Huntsman” while Angelina Jolie is being courted to play the villainess.

Snow White and the Huntsman will be a new take on the classic tale, which will be directed by Rupert Sanders and produced by Joe Roth from a screenplay written by Evan Daugherty. “The project takes a revisionist buddy movie spin on the tale, seeing the titular huntsman being hired by the evil queen to track down her runaway stepdaughter, the fairest in all the land. When he realizes that the queen intends to kill Snow White, he helps her escape, and the pair go on the run.”

Hardy is nearing a deal to star in the project and if all goes well he’ll fit filming in between his current production of the McG comedy This Means War and his stint in Christopher Nolan’s Batman 3. Jolie on the other hand is being eyed to play the evil queen Ravenna (no surprise there.), and with her 2011 schedule fairly clear and the uncertain state of Tim Burton’s Maleficent, Snow White might have a real shot.

Back to Hardy, This Means War isn’t expected to wrap until December and Batman 3 is scheduled to begin shooting in March or April of 2011. How does he plan on fitting a whole other movie in between those two is beyond us. Plus, you know how much Nolan likes to prep before production.

Do you think Hardy and Jolie would make a good team for Snow White and the Huntsman? Who else could play the characters besides these two?
