Darren Aronofsky has been a busy bee over the past few months thanks to all the positive buzz surrounding his latest film, Black Swan. The last time we checked he was being primed to direct the 20th Century Fox sequel, Wolverine 2, and now a report from Variety claims that he has a new project on the horizon called Machine Man. What the hell is Machine Man you ask? Find out below…
First of all, Machine Man has nothing to do with the Marvel comic character of the same name so remove that thought from your brain. The film is based on the Max Barry story that centers on “a gadget geek and engineer working at a forward-thinking tech firm decides to systematically replace his weaker fleshy parts with high-end titanium performance upgrades of his own design. But he isn’t the only one with plans for his superior parts.”
Now that Aronofsky has been confirmed to direct the feature for Mandalay Pictures, we’re not sure what this means for Wolverine 2. Star and producer Hugh Jackman claimed that production on the film was about to begin fairly soon and he revealed that he was already getting back into shape for the role.
A start date hasn’t been released for Machine Man, so we’re going to assume that it will shoot sometime after Wolverine 2.
What do you think of Aronofsky taking on Machine Man?
