Superman is getting a makeover. No, we’re not talking about another feature film, we’re talking about the new comic installment from DC entitled Superman: Earth One. The character is over 70 years old, but he’s been given a new lease on life with his updated and revamped look. Today, we got our first peek at the modernized Supes and he looks like he belongs at a 30 Seconds to Mars concert. Take a look…

According to EW, “Superman: Earth One is part of a limited series DC is rolling out that re-imagines iconic superheroes as young crimefighters in the modern age.” Therefore, if you hate his new look you won’t be stuck with it for long. No one will ever replace the big, beefy all-American Superman we’ve all grown to know and love. The character’s new wardrobe and build comes courtesy of artist Shane Davis.

The Earth One graphic novels take DC’s most popular superheroes and gives them new characteristics, whether it’s wardrobe, body-type, or in Supes case an age reversal. The books cost about $19.95 for the hardcover, and will debut in comic shops on Wednesday and book stores on November 2nd.

What do you think of the revamped Superman? How do you like his angsty look?
