Alec Baldwin has taken some time out of his busy “30 Rock” schedule to support a great cause. He recently filmed a PSA for FightBackPac. It’s an organization that’s working hard to legalize gay marriage all over the country, but more specifically New York. Many stars have made promos for the non-profit organization including “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, whose video actually spawned a response from Baldwin. Watch it below…
In the PSA, Baldwin says, “As a result of [Jesse's video], a vast and malicious whisper campaign has emerged, alleging that I can’t marry Jesse because I’m not gay,” Baldwin says. “I hear people saying this behind my back on a daily basis.” “There is one reason and one reason only why I can’t marry Jesse in New York next year,” Baldwin declares. “The New York State Senate.”
He then goes on to give information on the FightBackPac website where people can find out more about the state government officials who are making it their business to stop gay marriage. According to the website, “30 Republicans and 8 Democrats they feel should be kicked out of office because they don’t support marriage equality.”
It’s a serious issue, but Baldwin somehow makes it entertaining. I guess you have to do whatever it takes to get a message across.
