A couple photos have appeared online featuring a major prop from the upcoming Warner Bros film, Green Lantern. We’re talking about the power battery, as in the charging source of Hal Jordon and the other Lantern’s rings. It’s how they keep them full and ready for battle. This weekend, actor Ryan Reynolds appeared at the Spike TV Scream Awards to accept the honor of the “Most Anticipated Movie” for the film, and guess what he used as a prop? Take a look…
Here are photos of the stage replica of the power battery, the actual model used in the film, and the version drawn in the comics. You can compare and contrast who replicated it better.
At the Scream Awards, Green Lantern beat out Thor and Captain America for the “Most Anticipated Movie” honor, which should tell you something. Do we really care about those movies as much as the media says we do, or do we just want to get to The Avengers and call it a day?
Green Lantern is directed by Martin Campbell and opens in theaters on June 17, 2011.
What do you think of the design for the power battery? Does it look cheesy or just right?
