Is someone trying to get another image makeover? Mel Gibson has been public enemy number 1 for a while now, and he’s in desperate need of help. What better way to get on America’s good side again than through comedy? According to several ports, the Oscar winning actor might make an appearance in the highly anticipated Todd Phillips sequel, The Hangover 2.
The New York Post brings us this highly speculative news via a close source who claims that the actor’s appearance is “a done deal.” They went on to say, “Mel will make a cameo as a tattoo artist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October.”
Hmm, it seems as if they’re trying to do for Gibson what they did for Mike Tyson in the first film. But the only difference is that Tyson’s troubles were in his past, while Gibson’s are very much present. They also claim that his role will reference his latest troubles, which means he’ll poke fun at himself. Maybe he’ll say something about not trusting women with digital recorders?
What do you think of Mel Gibson appearing in The Hangover 2? Do you think it will restore his career?
