One of “Glee’s” weekly themes may land creator Ryan Murphy a feature film deal. According to Deadline, Murphy’s upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show episode may be a taste of what we’ll get in the future. He has his eye on Fox 2000′s upcoming remake of the 1975 musical which originally starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick.
According to their sources, by the time the Rocky Horror episode of “Glee” airs on October 26th, Murphy could already be signed to direct the film. The original movie is considered a cult classic and one of the longest running theatrical releases of all time. Even though it’s been 35 years since its debut, it still packs midnight shows at theaters, and the screenings are known for attracting die hard fans who dress as characters from the film and sing-a-long to the songs.
Murphy hasn’t confirmed that he’ll direct but he has met with producers and the studio. We usually hate remakes but this sounds like it could be fun. There’s no doubt that the singing and dancing will be on point, so our only concern are the actors chosen for the roles. Who should play what?
What do you think of Ryan Murphy and the Rocky Horror Picture show? Should he direct?
