Oz the Great and Powerful Plot Details

Now that it’s been pretty much confirmed that Sam Raimi will direct Oz The Great and Powerful, we’re interested in the specifics regarding the plot. So far, we’ve been told that it will be a prequel to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and it will center on the title character and his rise from a stranded traveler to a powerful wizard. Over at Pajiba, they’ve gotten the inside scoop on what the film’s about, so if you want to know, here it is…

The Wizard — a snake-oil salesman posing as a magician — enters Oz via a hot-air balloon, which he uses to escape an angry husband who has found out that Oz slept with his wife. There, Oz — a fast-talking huckster who wears a velveteen frock coat  — falls in love with Glinda (the Good Witch), and the two combine forces to Fight the Evil Witches Evanora and Theodora. Theodora starts out as a good witch, but after Oz jilts her sexual advances, Evanora — the truly evil witch — convinces Theodora to become an evil witch with her and help her to rule all of Oz. Both Evanora and Theodora are described as incredibly attractive, seductive women, and Theodora likes to wear black, thigh-high boots.

So, this is going to have sex in it? How are they going to pull that off exactly? This doesn’t sound like a family film so we’re not sure how they’ll market it. Plus, who wants to think of the Wizard in that way? Granted he’ll be played by the super charismatic Robert Downey Jr. but still. Gross.
